HP tango wireless printer setup

To connect the HP Tango printer to your wireless network uses HP Smart.

  1. Switch the printer on.
  2. Install and download HP Smart (in English) from Microsoft store on your computer.
  3. Push and hold the Wireless button on the back of the printer for 5 seconds.

The lighting on the Edge flashes blue.

NOTE: Network configuration must be completed within two hours.

  1. Open HP Smart on your computer and then click the icon for the printer.
  2. Click Set A New Printer, then Continue.
  3. HP Smart searches your Wireless Network for printers.
  4. Click on your printer, then click Continue.
  5. Type the WEP or WPA key (the network password) when prompted.
  6. If you do not know the password on your network, go to Find Your Wireless WEP, WPA, WPA2 Password.
  7. Click on Continue after the tango printer connects to your wireless network and then click Exit Setup.
  8. The blue Wireless Light on the control panel flips on solid until the printer connects to the wireless network.

Connect the printer with Wi-Fi Direct (Windows 8, 7)

Wi-Fi Direct is an option for connecting when there is no local wireless network or for guest printing.

To set up the tango printer connection to your Windows computer, go to Print with Wi-Fi Direct.

Android mobile device

To connect the printer to your wireless network uses HP Smart.

  1. Sure that Bluetooth is enabled on your Android device.
  2. Download HP Smart from 123.hp.com, and install it.
  3. Push and hold the Wireless button on the back of the printer for 5 seconds.

The lighting on the Edge flashes blue.

NOTE: Network configuration must be completed within two hours.

  1. Open HP Smart on your Android mobile device then tap the Plus sign.
  2. Tap Printer on Add.
  3. A list of the printers available for display
  4. Click on the printer. The printer name, such as HP-Setup<1F Tango, contains the ‘Setup’ and the model number.
  5. Follow the instructions on-screen to type WEP or WPA key (network password).
  6. If you do not know the password on your network, go to Find Your Wireless WEP, WPA, WPA2 Password.
  7. After setting up Tango printer that connects to your wireless network, the remaining screens may be skipped to complete setup.
  8. The blue Wireless Light on the control panel flips on solid until the printer connects to the wireless network.
